Does anyone go to a movie because Miles Teller is starring in it? Does he get above-the-title billing? I think not. So if he thinks he’s all that, yes, it’s unjustified. And many more famous actors are well-known to be courteous.
You know you look at some actors on old TV shows, and check their IMDB resume, and some of them worked every week. I guess if you learn your lines, show up on time and ready, and don’t act like a prima donna, you can have a long career in the business.
Or you can be an asshole and maybe have a short career.
I checked and Teller was praised for his performance in reviews, but try as I might I just can’t think of that film as anything other than a J.K. Simmons vehicle. The award nominations (if we exclude MTV, which skews towards young heartthrobs) seems to back that up. They skew heavily towards Simmons.
Surprisingly he’s not Tye Sheridan. They could easily replace each other in the middle of a movie and no one would notice.
Miles Teller has been the top star in movies for years now. You can dismiss him for being in stuff you don’t like but that doesn’t mean he’s not a star.
He starred in The Offer which I loved. I can’t recommend it enough.
He never got his picture on a bubble gum card. Have you ever seen his picture on a bubble gum card? Hmmm? How can you say someone is great who’s never had his picture on a bubble gum card?
I know lots have read it, and it’s way back there, but I just had to plunk down the opening paragraph from the Rex Harrison article:
Not that he has the most obvious backpfeifengesicht like Shkreli does, but neither does, say, Assad.
Amazing how some folks don’t register constant pushback. Maybe it’s a big wierd dopamine hit for them.
Of course, he’s not the only celebrity to lose his house. One article lists Mandy Moore, Anna Faris, Paris Hilton, Bozoma Saint John, Jeff Bridges, Billy Crystal, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, Cary Elwes, James Woods, Diane Warren, Cameron Mathison, Ricki Lake, Jhené Aiko and record producer Lou Adler as among those whose houses were lost.
Of course. And many, many people lost their homes. But it’s no less sad when it’s a celebrity. For example, from what I read, the house that Billy Crystal lost was one he and his family had been in for almost fifty years (edited to add: 46 years). So presumably lots of memories, lots of treasured possessions, and so forth.
