What Champagne cocktail did I drink at Trader Vics ?

So I took the missus to Trader Vics the other day, and I had a Champagne cocktail I have never tried before, and it was pretty good. I see Safeway has bottles of cheap “champagne” (i.e. fizzy plonk) on offer and I figure they would be perfect for making into something like this (obviously I’m not going to waste good champagne on cocktails).

However, I can’t for the life of me remember the name of the cocktail or what was in it (other than Champagne). Can anyone help me out ? The Trader Vics website is no good.

I’ve had a cocktail made with champagne and vodka. That would fit the basically clear criteria.

But–while you don’t need to use real champagne, invest in a nice, cheap cava. There’s no excuse for Andre!

And even if it wasn’t, you should try one. The French 75 is one of the best things to come out of the Great War.
