Not a proper carol, really, but still fun to sing among a group at xmas-time.
“This Christmas” by Donny Hathaway. No one else’s version, please.
“Santa Claus is Coming to Town” by the Jackson Five.
For pagans, Wiccans, tree-huggers, and other assorted filthy hippies weary of shopping n’ Santa - happy Solstice! http://contactmusic.com/video/annie-lennox-god-rest-ye-merry-gentlemen
I like “O Holy Night” by Mr. Michael Crawford. When he hits the second high note at the end, well, it just makes me all tingly feeling.
I think all of these have been mentioned already, but they are my favorites:
Same Old Lang Syne - Dan Fogelberg
The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole
Any Christmas Song by them, but “The Christmas Song” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Merry Christmas Darling” top the list - The Carpenters
All of those really make me feel like it is the holiday season.
