I had the reverse happen to me this week. I was ordering a book from a Canadian author’s website.
The default choice for country was Canada. Fair enough. But the United States was listed alphabetically with all the other countries. Which is a little silly. Given the relative populations, the author is probably going to get as many American orders as Canadian.
Dual, so since US will have enough reps in here, I picked Israel.

why not list the US of A, as “America” ? after all, the citizens of the US of A, call themselves Americans. They practically own the whole of the continent, so why not?
