I would look for a better source than “I read somewhere…”, but assuming it’s true, that’s fucked up.

I’ve been looking but it’s kind of tough to wade thru seven 800-page pdfs that aren’t indexed. Perhaps the amended tax returns to show exactly what he paid are in there, but I haven’t found them.

I did see a story yesterday from last week that says the committee recommended restitution of all the taxes that he didn’t pay. Maybe someone will report the specifics when the House takes up the matter of his punishment.

Which means that probably the $10,800 was a deal he cut. If so, then someone should investigate the IRS for preferential treatment.
