Placing a 300 pound soapstone sink onto its stand using nothing but a scrap of 2x2 lumber.
See, the sink was resting on its side, upright,if you will, on a furniture dolly. As a result, the center of gravity was already pretty high, we did not have to lift the sink, we just needed to rotate it. I figured I could insert the 2x2 into one of the drain holes, hook it over the side of the stand to brace the weight, and rotate the sink into place.
It was a triumph of low tech tools.
She still thinks my efforts to develop People Chow were wasted. The fool.
I tn early 1970’s I created a mini snail and slug farm for the purpose of harvesting slime. I was experimenting with different methods to coax them into sliming. I do admit to being influenced a bit by pot but she actually packed her bags and left when she saw my snail farm. She came back when she realized we hadn’t been married long enough to collect alimony.
