I think my parents gave theirs away - but it took years. In theory, I would have loved to have had it. But in practice, I don’t have room for it, couldn’t really practice it without disturbing the neighbors, and would probably never play it. (And there are much smaller, easier to store instruments for me to fail to play).
When I was growing up (80s?) it was pretty common for suburban families to have an upright so that their kids could learn piano. These days, electronic keyboards are cheaper and easier for everyone.
