I don’t know how much bearing it might have, but in Lebanon, the President is required to be a Maronite Catholic. The Prime Minister must be a Sunni Muslim, and the Speaker of Parliament must be a Shi’a Muslim, as well.
Perhaps because very few of the Lebanese Christians belong to the weirdest branches. Sorry guys and I apologize for any offense this may give, but the USA seems to have a very high percentage of Christian wackos… (even the Catholic church there is much more conservative than the Catholic church in traditionally-Catholic countries like Spain or Italy)

Is this true? I have heard, for example, that getting an anullment is far easier in the U.S. than anywhere else.
