What do the stars in Contact the movie mean?

I haven’t been able to figure this one and I bet it’s really simple.

Over and over in the movie Contact they reference several (about 6) stars in a backwards "c" shape.

There are two "make it apparent to the general public" shots.

                     1) The sand in the alien/dad's hand.
                     2) The dirt in Jodies hand at the very end of the movie.

But, if you watch the movie, this patteren of stars come up several times. In posters, ect..

Anyone know what this is all about. I searched the internet for hours to get the inside skoop but found nothing.

(sorry for the double post on this one, I didn’t know putting quotes in the subject of the thread will mess up the subject  )

My WAG is that it’s a constellation, but I haven’t seen the movie, so I don’t know which one.

(Send Manhattan an e-mail, he can lock or delete the other “oopsie” thread.)

I got that from IMDB.

I can verify that CorBor looks like a half-circle, although it’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie. If it’s clear tonight, you should be able to find it in the sky. Shortly after sunset, look towards the western sky, about halfway between the horizon and the zenith: It’ll be shaped like a bowl, right-side up. It’s a little difficult to find, because it’s small and a bit faint (brightest star is about second magnitude), but the shape is distinctive enough that you’ll know it when you see it. Happy hunting!
