I also just picked up a regular part time job to help pay the bills – working in a kitchen as a line cook. I did it for 10 years before, so it’s all old hat. Actually looking forward to working in a restaurant again.

Work as a Turker.
I’m a flight instructor at a local airport. I teach on evenings and weekends. There’s a surprising demand for this (I’m turning students away, as I don’t have time for all of them). The pay’s pretty good, and I have absolute control over my schedule.
I don’t earn extra money this way, but I’m a serial bargain hunter and save money that I would have spent on daily necessities, does that count?
I’m talking sales, coupons, rebates, or free samples, anything I can do to whittle down the retail cost gives me a little thrill and keeps some hard-earned cash in my pocket. It’s ridiculous how excited I get over free toothpaste or dish soap, but there you have it.
I do evening chores (putting hay in the stalls, bringing the horses in, giving them grain) at the stable once or twice a week and get a reduction in board. So technically it’s not making money, but I’m spending less on the Wonder Pony’s expenses.
