I don’t want to disrespect your freedom to your own opinion, but maybe you have not considered the difference between a woman’s appearance and her photograph? One is a poem, the other is an unanimated artifact. A poem exists separately for each personal observer, where a photograph is objective- I suppose someone may notice this part of a photograph first, or that, but it does reduce to data. I bet you focus on what you think is worst in a photograph. What if you resemble someone’s favorite person?
Anyway, I don’t know if it counts as a lie to myself or not, but I have sort of walled off a whole chain of thought. My relationship with my gf fell apart, and it isn’t a good time to work through all the angles, so I have all but forgotten about it!
I really won’t plant flowers in the front garden. It will remain the domain of our twice-monthly yard guys, who will renew the mulching and trim the shrubbies as needed.
I also feel like I look much better without clothes than with clothes. Clothes aren’t very well proportioned to my body, so I can feel very self-conscious in them, but I don’t have that when I’m naked.
True story. We once had a weird glitch on this board in which all the threads were made temporary (I think this was the Winter of our Missed Content) and some Dopers really did post pictures of themselves naked. I was not among them. As sexually liberated as I may be in terms of my ideals, I am pragmatically speaking, more on the modest side.
I suspect everybody looks better naked. I do wonder if most people feel better naked.
Well, I have several I’m sure. But the main one is that I’m gonna lose those 15 pounds, damn right I am! Of course I first have to lose the 10 that I put on since I told myself that.
