I’ve never noticed it before but yeah everyone know use that term aswell.
Like just before someone in my house asked me “Mind if I jump on hte computer for a sec? Need to look up a phone number.”

I hear mainly “use the computer” or “get on the computer”. If jumping’s involved, it tends to be to do with the Internet use, not just a computer.
“Use” or “get on” here also. If I’m specifying to someone that they need to relinquish control of the console to me, it’s “Let me drive.”
