My OB was apologizing for not being at my appointment the last time (I ended up seeing one of his colleagues and waiting to do so), but he had a baby to deliver. Most of the OBs in that practice let whomever was on call (and therefore didn’t schedule appointments) deliver babies. I picked him because unless he was on vacation - he saw you through your pregnancy AND did the catching. And I said something similar. He said “you won’t believe how many of my patients don’t get that.”
