Today I saw two cars on the back of a tow truck that had the letters EAS spray painted on the back windshields. What does that mean in this context?
I suspect it just means that the tow is allocated to EAS.
Maybe its only painted on when the vehicle has to sit, eg beside the road, for a while, to wait for the tow truck … when the tow truck arrives, the EAS truck knows its for EAS to tow…
Like the car yard, insurer , highway operator, city, county will have a bunch of vehicles to be towed and by different companies…
EAS , LITITZ PA ?
Now that over 24 hours have passed since the OP, and there has been an answer, I have a related question.
When I went to Southern California for my aunt’s funeral, I saw up to a half-dozen cars in tow in Central California that had IN TOW displayed on their backs. Is there some sort of law in California that requires cars in tow to have IN TOW on them? I’m a native Southern Californian, and I have no recollection of this.
There is indeed a towing company called EAS, but I don’t know if it’s located where the OP is. Nor do I see anyone saying what the letters actually stand for.
