Interesting to hear the 3k number from a reliable source.
It’s also worth noting --for those attempting to calculate the SDMB’s income from subscription – that a large proportion of subscribers are Charter Members at the $7.48 level rather than Members at $14.95 per annum.

Every now and then these little slices of truth slip out. Free subscriptions for the coterie huh? This may seem like a small issue to some people but that is merely the tip of a rather large StraightDope iceberg.
Is that the indoor/outdoor version? Suitable for hot or cold beverages? With a spiffy inscription?

I use MINE for hot and cold beverages. Never used it outdoors, though, since that would entail ME going outdoors, and I don’t do outdoors well at all. My mug is dishwasher safe (essential around here) and it handles chocolate milk, hot tea, ice tea, and Scotch on the rocks with equal ease. It occupies a place of honor next to my Get Fuzzy mug, the one where Bucky decides to become a “slap you upside the head” laureate.

bigbabysweets2000, since questions asked in ATMB deserve factual answers - the Moderators and Administrators do not get paid. The SDSAB do not get paid. All of the above get comped for posting. Some of the above may receive occasional other items such as coffee mugs, calendars, or other things related to the Chicago Reader. Ed Zotti has posted in the past that TubaDiva receives something for upkeep and updates to the main web server. I have no idea about the current status of that compensation and it’s none of mine or anyone else’s business, I’m only reporting what has been publically been posted here in the past.
