What does the Dad (Stephen Keaton) do for a living on "Family Ties?"

The name of the station was WKS-TV (see first paragraph of Show Summary section for cite). I remember Steven singing part of a WKS jingle (perhaps while trying to write additional lines and/or get his family’s assistance in doing so) on one episode.

strange to think that the little boy from Family ties went on to be Alexander, Warf’s son.

Two pledge drive episodes:

Episode 6. Give Uncle Arthur A Kiss - This is the one in which the guy tries to molest Mallory during the pledge drive. (Uncle Arthur was the creepy kind of uncle, not the actually related kind.)

Episode 61. Birth of A Keaton - This is the one in which Elyse goes into labor during the pledge drive.

There were plenty of other episodes that featured the station – The quiz show one mentioned below; Elyse is asked to redesign the station building; Alex and Mallory compete for a scholarship offered by the station, etc.

The “station” episode I remember most is when Alex goes to work with Steve to help Steve film/edit a documentary for the station.

As with any reference to Family Ties, we managed to get through two dozen posts of answers, anecdotes, and digressions without once mentioning Tina Yothers or her character’s name. Can anyone even remember it? (I had to look it up).

Jennifer.

Ah yes, he not only worked at the station, but he was the director of the award-winning documentary “The Egrets’ Regret”.

Manager of Public Television Station. Wait for it…

WKS-TV…

Put down the remote and walk away from the televsion slowly…

I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that both of these are humorous. But… I’m not getting the references. Explain, if you please…? Thanks.

Remember Mallory’s boyfriend, feather-mulleted Scott Valentine?
