I put this in general questions because I’m not looking for general thoughts on what the last eight years has done to America’s ability to interact with the rest of the world. Rather, I’m looking for specific accounts of the US increased difficulty since 9-11 (or the invasion of Iraq) in conducting relations with other countries.
I’m interested in specific instances where another government or group (like the AU or League of Arab Nations) specifically cites, for example, the war in Iraq as its reason for not cooperating or where an American diplomat cites current US foreign policy as the reason it has become more difficult for him/her to do his/her job.
I’m particularly interested in instances that most people wouldn’t consider to be in the realm of the “war on terror.”
