Yes. What’s that all about? It seems like nobody actually uses it, everybody’s selling it. Is that what an “MLM” is?
“MLM” Multi Level Marketing? I.E. pyramid Scheme?
I had someone try to recruit me into AmeriPlan a few years ago (when I was unemployed). I even went to one of their seminars, where this guy spoke about all the money he was raking in and showed us pictures of his big house on the golf course and his nice cars and beautiful wife and kids. And he would just go out to dinner or sit by the pool with his friends as the money rolled in, thanks to the people he recruited who were out there selling insurance and IRAs and whatnot (or, the people they recruited were selling…)
Sure sounded like MLM to me. The only part that threw me was that the always claimed to be part of the Citigroup conglomerate, which is a legitimate business. I don’t know what the actual relationship is like.
You know, if you use the keywords “Ameriplan” and “MLM” on Google, you’ll find out a whole lot about it.
I tried that and mostly what I got was sites like this, which is titled: “MLM Secrets Revealed.” The whole thing is a promotion of Ameriplan.
It’s like they’re trolling google for skeptics, and then feeding them sales pitches. (I did find one site that was critical.) That’s the reason for my question. Is this a centralized plan, or just the result of every person on every rung hustling with their own websites? How can they rip off so many people without more protest?
