I got a ticket for something 2 weeks ago and my court date is next month. My dad told me I better beg for community service because he’s not giving me any money for the fine, and for every dollar the judge fines me the General is fining me 10, even if it means he has to pawn all my stuff (trust me, he’ll do it!
)
So, if i get community service, what exactly will I have to do? Wipe a blind guys butt? Mow city property lawns?
And what if I refuse to do it? then what?
Well I was a coffee bartender at a bar run by Alcoholics Anonymous. It was kind of fun.

in la county ca community service means anything from picking up trash on the free way to helping out at the goodwill store or the seniors bingo hall
I’ts mainly up to local defination but anything that lets people volunteer or community programs that need help
Oh, another time they put me to work for the Parks Department. They took about twenty of us out to this little house, handed us all hammers, and told us to tear it down. So we did. I was amazed that no one got hurt and even more amazed that they weren’t worried about anyone getting hurt.
But that was kind of fun too.
Where I am from in Norman, Ok. we had to do things like voluteer at the Y.M.C.A or at the animal shelter in town. The Y wasn’t bad b/c it was a big place and the person in charge would tell you to go clean something or do something trivial and we would just go wounder around for a few hours staying out of sight until we got bored then we would go do whatever it was we were supposed to do. At the animal shelter you just spent all day walking dogs while someone cleans out the cage. Oh yeah, the red cross isn’t a bad place to do it either. All i did there was sit at this table having people fill out forms before they donated blood. From my experiances community sevice is never hard. It’s just a matter of putting in the time. I wouldn’t recommend refusing to do it though. It really won’t be that bad. And it will certainly be better than having your dad take all your stuph.
Some of them work at our thrift shops. It’s the same thing as if you were in high school & have to do community service.
IMHO It’s not right to pick on people by saying things like wiping butts.
In Ann Arbor about 90% sort recycling. About 10% are cool jobs like working at the Hands-on Museum.
If you refuse to do it you’ll be in Contempt of Court… guess what: you could go to jail for that.
Judge: I sentence you to two hundred hours of community service!
Emo: Community service? Like what?
Judge: Well, looking at you, maybe you could work with the mentally handicapped.
Emo: Does my time here count?

Actually in most places Youll get a “bench” Warrant which means theres a warrant for your arrest ( actually these are what they check for when they look for warrants when your pulled over )
But they wont activlely hunt you down but if your pulled over or arrested ect for anything you go to jail
Also here in la county ca it seems to be 2 or 3 days for each day you dont get done
Now they usually give ya 90 days to do 10 and you can get at least one extension of the time you need to get it done
So you better have a good excuse for not doing it
My advice is do it and get it over with I mean its not worth possibly 2 or 3 months in jail
