What experiments would you like to see tried on "Mythbusters"?

I don’t think the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department bomb range is going to be big enough for that one.

Thank you. I enjoy this show from time to time, but much much much too often the thing they actually wind up proving or disproving has f&ck-all to do with whatever myth they came up with to justify the segment. They other day, I saw one where the “myth” they were working with was that the bus in Speed would have tipped over if Keanu hadn’t told everyone to move to the one side to keep it from doing so. They (a) wasted time by replicating the scene as it was done in the movie (all the weight on one side), then (b) disproved the “myth” by distributing the weight evenly between the two sides of the bus, then (c) finally got around to what they really wanted to do in the first place, which was to crash the frakking bus.*

C’mon, guys. Just make a show called “Sh!t We Blew Up Real Good” and be done with it.

*Disclaimer: I either fell asleep or changed the channel before I actually saw the bus crash. I’m assuming they didn’t stop until they crashed it. It was, however, their expressed intent.

They tested the “drop a hammer before you to break the surface tension.” I think they ended up dropping heavier objects but they never really aerated the water. So this could easily be sent in as a re-visit.
I want them to re-re-visit the rocket car. They tried to redo it by having the car go off a ramp, but it ended up exploding unexpectedly just before the ramp.

The “myth,” such as it was, was that the bus would turn over if they hadn’t moved everyone to one side. To bust that, all they had to do was do part (b) of what I outlined. Everything was gratuitous chest-thumping.

I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that, I just wish they’d be more honest about it.

I just want them to do more myths. I must be in the minority here but I rather them test things and show the results then jsut blow stuff up. It gets kinda old to me.

Actually, I just started riding my bike again after a long hiatus. My BICYCLE trips the signal on every light I’ve tried so far, as long as I’m sitting in the middle of the lane right over the sensor wires.

A few:

1. Those deer whistle thingies that you hook to your car to supposedly scare off deer. Consumer Reports has said that they don’t work, which I accept at face value, but I’d like to see the Mythbusters team’s methodology.

Having scored 1.5 points in the Bambi Club over the years, I’d like to see that one, too.

They did, specifically addressing it via a myth of a bomber crewmember who fell out, then managed to end up just above a greenhouse as it was going kablooey, and the “cushion” of air broke the fall.

I believe this one was busted.

The problem is that they’ve done most (if not all) of the vaguely plausible “Myths” and are now into “replicating things from Movies that everyone knows aren’t possible in real life but it’s fun to watch them try anyway”.

I’d love to see them test magnets and traffic lights. Too many times I’ve been stuck on my SV650 at a light that won’t turn green. People keep saying they don’t work, but for every one that say’s it doesn’t work, there’s someone that says it’s worked for a signal that’s caused them trouble. Cheap and easy to do, though there’s no excuse to blow something up or build a gadget, so I suppose they’ll never do it.

Give it to Adam. He will find a way blow something up whether it needs it or not.
