Coke* is *better than Pepsi and your dog does smell bad.
I actually did a totally fake one, probably about 5 to 8 years ago . A thread here inspired it (fake Snapple facts, I think).
Had several people start e-mailing it out to all their contacts. About six weeks later, I got it forwarded to me. WhooHoo!
- I see it denied that human activity is causing a rise in global temperatures.
THe mainstream media in the US (with a very few exceptions) is biased to the left.

OK, I’ll play. At work, I get these two several times a day:
“My dog can’t be in pain because he’s not whimpering.”
“I know my dog’s overweight, but I don’t overfeed him!”
Not earth-shatteringly important facts, just chronic cases of stubborn denial.
Absolutely. I used to be 50-60 pounds overweight. How did I lose it? Do I go on some miracle diet? Did I buy the latest exercise machine touted on the infomercials? Did I have my stomach stapled? No, no, and no. Did I learn self-control? Yes.
Here’s one of mine: I find the idea that we are alone in the universe to be extremely arrogant. Of course we aren’t alone. Even if the odds are incredibly low that any particular star might harbor a planet with intelligent life (in the past, now, or in the future), then there are still billions of them out there. People just don’t grasp how truly vast the universe is.
Death is the end of the road.
That driving is THE most dangerous thing that the vast majority of North Americans do on a daily basis, and we treat it like a trifle, and accept 42,000 people killed per year in the United States in collisions as acceptable losses.
That governments across North America should create a system where people are required to take a serious level of professional training before they can challenge a driving test, and the driving test should be made much more difficult, and re-testing should be done every five to 10 years to catch all those sloppy habits.
I should say, I don’t hear it denied so much as I don’t hear about it AT ALL. 42,000 dead per year - not a peep. My mind boggles.
It blows my mind that people still think if obese people would just stop eating so much food they’d lose weight. It’s not true and I’m living proof that a low calorie low fat diet doesn’t always lead to weight loss.
It frustrates me to hear every time I mention I am losing (without suffering, without denying myself good healthy food) through a low carb diet that “Robert Atkins died of a heart attack”.
And finally the whole anti-vax BS, particularly in regards to autism. I STILL get forwards about “BIG PHARMA KILLING OUR KIDS! MERCURY THIS THIMEROSAL THAT! POISON DIE DIEEEEE!” Why don’t these people care that there are no actual studies supporting their position, citing only cases where there were pre-existing conditions and legal crap as if that is sufficient evidence to deny children necessary preventative care?
[Moderator Note]Just a reminder to all:
From the OP-“I’d like to point out, right now, that I am not trying to start a thread to debate all of these. I would not mind debating any of these in Great Debates, but I’m mostly looking to start a show-and-tell thread.”[/Moderator Note]
Yes!
“…they’re jealous of Our Precious Freedoms…” – give me a break.
As is indicated by several of the posts in this thread, many people don’t know the difference between a fact and an opinion.
It’s 100% obvious to me that it was neither of the above.

Oops.
Sorry, but it is a fact that obesity is caused by eating too much. It is also a fact that eating less will cause weight loss. These facts are frequently denied, hence it is an appropriate addition in this thread.
Eating less will only result in weight loss if the new, lower calorie intake is lower than an individual’s calorie burn, which isn’t necessarily the case.
[Moderator Note]You were asked, by both the OP and me, not to debate in this thread. Take the debate elsewhere.[/Moderator Note]
