What fact is most obvious to you that you hear frequently denied?

Evolution happened.
You do not need an antibiotic for a cold or other virus. (And you shouldn’t stop taking an antibiotic once you feel better unless your doctor specifically tells you to.)
Giving birth is NOTHING like the way it is portrayed on TV and in the movies
It is OK to end a sentence with a preposition in English.

Thank you sir for illustrating my point! If you’d like to discuss this (as if it hasn’t been done to death) how about starting another thread?

And I can’t believe how I could fall into the “junior mod” role after all these years of shifting about quietly. Perhaps I should read post 31.

Vaccines have nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing nothing to do with the cause of vaccines.
And we landed on the moon.

I believe and hope the last word of the above should be “autism”.

I think it’s arguable that vaccines are not one of the chief causes of vaccines.

The moon landing.

The practical superiority of democratic capitalist societies (in which I include the social democracies & democratic socialist states of Europe).

The historical existence of the man Jesus (tho to be fair, I only heard this doubted once in real life- every other time has been here.)

Evolution happened - and happened on human populations, leading to measurable differences between different populations.

Rent control is a bad thing.

You use all of your brain.

Intelligence exists, matters, and differs between people.

Your vote doesn’t matter.

Donating an hour’s wages to charity is more effective and more praiseworthy than donating an hour’s unskilled labor.

There are significant cognitive and physical differences between different races that are THE main deciding factors in the successes and failures of members of those races in different arenas. The breakdown is something like 95% nature, 5% nurture. Nobody will admit or accept this, in spite of it being plain as day, because it’s an “offensive” concept. I also believe that research and empirical data confirming this is suppressed, though often tacitly.

That said, this calls for even more equality-supporting laws and behaviors like affirmative action.

So what was it? And if it was just religious (which is ridiculous) why not do the same to any Western country.

Obviously they have a problem with the USA… doesn’t matter who is right and who is not, what matters is how they perceive things - things that drive them to fight us.

Sorry - missed the notices on the first page midway down. Debate halted.

Ooooo!! I’ve got one:

Racist attitudes and opinions reflect facts (stated much louder than other words) that everybody knows and agrees on, not hateful interpretations of anecdotes.

It is a fact, as shown by numerous scientific studies, that giving children sugar at night does NOT make them super active. But almost every mother I have ever met does not believe it.

The fact that people can disagree about things without either one of them being evil or stupid.

But there are hundreds of recipes for chocolate lasagna. It’s widely known – was one of the more popular desserts at the Olive Garden chain, for example. See Olive Garden Chocolate Lasagna.

This one has been often-mentioned, but it’s worth repeating:

Being out in the cold - without a hat or whatever - will not give you a cold.

I deal Blackjack; so every gambling fallacy ever imagined.

I like the cut of your jib. :stuck_out_tongue:
