What foodstuffs have you gotten and consumed from your own garden, windowbox, back yard, fields, forests, or neighborhood wilderness?

This year; tomatoes, courgettes (zucchini), a pretty broad range of salad leaves, chard, black currants, strawberries and wild strawberries, a reasonably impressive selection of herbs, from lovage to four types of mint, peas, assorted beans, one solitary cucumber (there are more flowers developing, hopefully not too late!), carrots, potatoes, three apples (very small trees only planted last winter, even three is a win), tomatillos, a couple of Japanese wineberries and a few raspberries, gooseberries, cavolo nero, shallots, giant garlic a few winter squash and hopefully some oca, beetroot and maybe turnips still to come. Plus some edible flowers.

I’ve only foraged for blackberries, a few cooking apples and a couple of plums this year, with the odd miscellaneous bit, I normally collect wild garlic, but didn’t get round to it this year.

We have three fruit trees. Well, four if you count the tiny lemon “bush”.

We used to grow more stuff when i was a kid- tomatoes especially.

I have foraged for quite a bit, and fished. No longer.

Lemons. Lots and lots of lemons. The one tree in my yard produces 60 - 70 pounds of lemons per year (27 - 32Kg). Most of them end up in boxes and placed by the sidewalk for the neighbors to pick up.
