Why don’t you cover the door with a tarp? Windows too? On te one day we get snow in Dallas I’m the only one who isn’t trying to find the ice scraper he bought last year.
In Canada, we often use matches.
This is the best way to go. Also put some in your locks to keep them from freezing. Wipe your key off the first few times you use it, because it will get oily and dirty.
