What happened to salad bars?

I have to say that, being in the Midwest, that there is no scarcity of salad bars around here. I don’t tend to frequent steakhouses (being vegetarian) but many, many other restaurants have them. For example, the Jason’s Deli chain offers a great salad bar, and most, if not all, Pizza Hut dine-ins have them too.

In addition, many grocery stores (in particular the Iowa-centered chain Hy-Vee) offer salad bars, too.

Well, Indianapolis has no Soup Plantation, Souper Salad, or Sizzler locations, so that doesn’t help me any. I’m nowhere near a college or a super-big office building, so that’s not an option. The nearest dine-in Pizza Hut is in Castleton, which is 20 minutes one-way on a good traffic day. I guess I’m stuck with Marsh and Kroger. And Marsh charges for soda refills! And you only get one!! Crazy, eh?

Nothing like laughing out loud over something really silly.
Waffle Ho. I’ll be thinking about this all day. Thanks.

Up off of Willow Creek Road. There were some apartments just before you got to Galpin Ford heading north.

I love that town. I passed through this spring, and man has that town grown!
