It’s an unusual concept in today’s political scene but he took responsibility for the poor performance of the government services he administered and resigned.
Perhps, Another way of looking at it is that he left because the jobs is now a whole lot harder and he did not want to deal with that. Or he was probably goinng to be fired anyway and there was not much point trying to fight it.
I don’t really find it responsable to quit after you screwed something up. That just gets you out of fixing the mess. It is only responsable if saves people the trouble of firing you.
I agree … falling on you sword is one thing but he quit way too early unless he personally did something terribly wrong or just irresponsibly decided to say “fuck it!”
