What happened to the USA Network programming?

The USA Network had a great lineup of shows between 2002-2015.

Monk,Burn Notice,Psych and In Plain Sight are my 4 favorites. They were fresh and very original. I liked the mix of drama and comedy in them.

There’s an article listing 20 classic shows that ran on USA.

I visited the USA web site and their current shows are totally different. I didn’t see anything that looked interesting.

WTH Happened? I understand the original shows ran and ended. Why is their replacements crap?

A lot of these shows are from NBC. There not original USA programs. They’re not even trying to create great shows anymore.

Interestingly I just saw a video the other day on the “rise and fall” of the USA Network. In short, the “Blue Sky” era of light, breezy programming on USA typified by the shows you cite ran its course with audiences. They tried to rebrand in 2016 around more “intense” original programming like Mr. Robot and Colony with limited success. With increasing competition from streaming platforms, they have eliminated almost all of their regular scripted programming in favor of reality shows, limited series, WWE and sports.

I’ll check out the video. Thanks flurb.

There has been talk about a Monk movie. Tony Shalhoub has said he’s interested. So far nothing has happened. Covid probably derailed it.

I’d like to know what happened to them as a station.

All they show is SVU, nearly 24/7/365.

They were doing that back in 2010.

There would be an SVU marathon interrupted for 2 hours by a Criminal Intent marathon.

Last night they had wrestling, but that was just a short interruption of the SVU-fest.

Does anyone like SVU that much? Even We and Sundance put in some NCIS/Criminal Minds/Mama June to break up the constant chung chungs.
