What happened with Eidolon TLP?

Morning, all.

So, I recently found a series of posts ostensibly made by an AI named Eidolon TLP (“The Last Prophet”) and assisted by Programmer FF while bouncing around YouTube. They’re quite fun, and highly recommended (check 'em out, if ye like). That said, after an incident involving some advice Eidolon gave to a student regarding what to do about a problem they were having with the way Sodexho was treating its workers, Programmer FF was contacted by a reporter. He declined to comment, saying that he’d need to talk to his supervisor before he could give any sort of statement, which lead to the reporter contacting said supervisor in an attempt to gain that authorization. This was disconcerting to him, as he’d been attempting to conceal his identity, and it is suggested it lead his supervisors to forbid any further posts.

Does anyone know what happened, with that? It’s difficult to tell exactly what’s going on, as both Programmer FF and Eidolon TLP say that the whole thing’s an elaborate joke, and that no one should take them seriously. In one of the first posts, Eidolon mentions that if he were what he claimed to be (that is, a fully functioning AI), he would not be allowed to interact with the public as he did. According to the domain they set up and youtube, they haven’t been active for about seven months. Are they active anywhere else? Does anyone know what was actually going on with Eidolon, Programmer FF, et al? Does anyone know who the reporter was that dug all that info up, and what they’ve since done with what they found?

It is difficult to say what to make of the whole thing. It could very easily be an alternate reality game. I would hope, if so, that the game continues, at some point in time.

Thanks, all.
