In a similar vein, my wife worked sales in a “fine jewelry” department when we were getting married, so I knew her boss, and the other ladies and I decided to get the ring from them.
One morning I went to get the ring when my wife was working that night. I told her manager, “you can ring this up tomorrow, when she’s not working, so she doesn’t know.”
“Oh yeah, no problem.”
Well, what she did instead – to “make her day” – was ring it up in another department. I don’t get all the details, but while my wife was working, the store manager called her department asking why this big purchase was made for her department in another department. The cat was totally out of the bag.
The lady, literally, could not wait ONE DAY to put the exact same purchase through.
Really fucking thoughtless. Pissed us both off pretty bad.
He didn’t get enough $ for a SB ad. So he bought an add to air during her favorite show (Veronica Mars) for $3000. She was very shocked and then said yes.
The rest of the money he raised ($75000 total, so $72000) is going to a charity (children’s hospital)
