That means if you have a problem with a spammer that takes you to PitWorthy invective, you’ll need to Take It To The Pit, because that is where those things live.
It makes no difference whatever the target of your flamefest might be, if the OP is not already in the Pit you cannot throw down in the thread.
The theoretical life expectancy of the thread does not matter and is not a factor in these considerations.
Though we have not strictly enforced such situations in the past (because we have not needed to) please don’t make us have to go there.
