Depends on the person.
One of the Georgia 19 may get a time-out.
“She didn’t need a quarter of a million dollars of people’s hard-earned money to be raised offline. You know? And it doesn’t take a quarter of a million dollars to accept a plea deal either. Or to deny one. OK? So she just showed who she really is.”
Umm, dude? Why does trump, the self professed BILLIONAIRE need a dime of people’s hard-earned money,
And if donate your hard-earned money to a Billionaire, you are a special kind of stupid.
I hope that Trump sees this, is struck by therealization that people do actually go to jail for shit like that, and cleans up his act. I also hope I win the lottery.
Other people go to jail.
The MeidasTouch video I watched went so far as to say Cannon was doing this on purpose (keeping her trial date) as a defensive move to delay the GA case and all other trials until after November.
the prosecuting donald trump team did not go that far, but did think it really loud. weissmann is losing the reins a bit.
If this was the case, there would almost have to be some sort of coordination with the Trump defense team, right? I can believe she’s been implicitly colluding thus far (doing things favorable to Trump’s defense without explicitly being told to do so by the Trump team), but explicit collusion would be truly shocking.
Serious question: Would it be illegal?
Obviously it would be viewed as misconduct and in a sane world it would get her impeached and removed. But the political reality is that impeachment is impossible.
So … if that happened, would there be any actual consequences?
I’m asking because I don’t know.
Yes, she will be named to the Supreme Court during the following Trump Reign.
The language is the language that dictators use to instill fear,” Timothy Naftali, a senior research scholar at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, told The Washington Post. “When you dehumanize an opponent, you strip them of their constitutional rights to participate securely in a democracy because you’re saying they’re not human. That’s what dictators do.”
Longtime Harvard legal scholar Laurence Tribe called Trump’s comments “straight-up Nazi talk.”
New York University historian Ruth Ben Ghiat told the Post via email that "calling people 'vermin’ was used effectively by Hitler and Mussolini to dehumanize people and encourage their followers to engage in violence.”
“Trump is also using projection: note that he mentions all kinds of authoritarians ‘communists, Marxists, fascists and the radical left’ to set himself up as the deliverer of freedom,” Ben-Ghiat added. “Mussolini promised freedom to his people too and then declared dictatorship.”
Presidential historian Jon Meacham warned on MSNBC that “to call your opponents vermin and to dehumanize them is to not only open the door but to walk through the door toward the most ghastly kinds of crimes.”
Soon a book entitled- My Struggle.
Ha. A book? Maybe a tweet about his struggle.
Miller, Bannon and others would produce the plagarism, probably using one of those LLMs to translate and slightly modify the original, then he would put his name on it. In Sharpie, of course.
If Trump is re-elected, nothing will happen. He will ignore the Georgia charges and declare them invalid because he is President so he can do whatever he wants. The state of Georgia lacks the ability to compel him to comply. Trump has already publicly and loudly announced his revenge tour so the prosecutor and the judge will be brought up on false charges and jailed.
If Trump is not re-elected and this case drags on into 2025, that is ideal. Although he will certainly claim the election was stolen again (you’d think he would have figured it out after the first time it happened!) and he will immediately start campaigning for 2028 so that he can say the leading Republican nominee is being persecuted for his politics. But no one will care and he will eventually have a rage-induced cardiac incident that his followers will blame on the Deep State. He will die destitute and unloved although probably well before he would ever see the inside of a prison cell.
One of the funniest SNL bits. Skip to about 4:10 to see Trump talk about the book he’s going to write.
August 5th is the proposed trial start date.
Could be.
On the other hand, the extradition law in the District of Columbia doesn’t have an exception for when the defendant has an important job:
Yes, yes, yes. But who’s going to actually enforce it?
Eastman wants his trial date moved up:
