What happens if Trump is indicted in Georgia? (Indicted on August 14, 2023)

Yeah, that I could see, handing it off to Trump. Who still has it squirreled away to show off to certain visitors, on accounta “it’s mines!!”

Posted on the Jack Smith/DoJ case. Prolly’ belongs here, too:

Also involved in the Nevada case: a familiar name…

Yep, that’s Ken Chesebro who is “cooperating with authorities” in the Nevada case.

Somebody rightly pointed out that my linked article is a year old. I simply didn’t remember the Nevada State GOP Chairman having directly implicated Trump in the ‘alternate slate of electors’ conspiracy.

Suppose I should have searched the thread first. Suppose I still will

I’m not sure that he will go the self pardon route. I suspect that he will invoke the supremacy clause to void all state action against him, and then fire the AG and special prosecutor and replace him with someone who will decide to drop the federal cases against him for lack of evidence.

Followed by declaring martial law and the suspension of the Constitution, and suspending elections for the duration of the emergency… which will be for the rest of his life.

But when Trump and his morons invoke it, it’s Marshall Law

Marshall Law… Marsh Law… Swamp Law.

Can’t recall when/where I came across it, but I understand he’s on record saying he plans to invoke the Insurrection Act immediately after the inauguration.

Now you’ll be on the list when the Commander and Chief sends the gazpacho police after his enemies.

Donald Trump and his allies have begun mapping out specific plans for using the federal government to punish critics and opponents should he win a second term, with the former president naming individuals he wants to investigate or prosecute and his associates drafting plans to potentially invoke the Insurrection Act on his first day in office to allow him to deploy the military against civil demonstrations.

More audio seemingly implicating Trump in the RICO conspiracy:

There is another person now to consider: the cell mate that has to stand smelly Trump.

That’s got to be cruel and unusual.

mmmmmm, JuicyFruit

True, but if I happened to be the one who wound up as Trump’s cellmate, I’d take great pleasure in telling him every day exactly what a [censored] he is in all the ways Dopers keep bringing up here. He’s never had to listen to that kind of verbal dress-down ever in his life. I hope he gets a cellmate like that.

Big red juicy fruit.

Band name? Or prison name? Or just a good combination of chewing gums.

Time will tell.

trump will not go to prison, the security issues are too big. He will be placed under house arrest.

I absolutely support the use of my tax dollars to build him a special prison, or buy him a secure but terrible house for his house arrest. I would like to humbly suggest that acquiring one in the worst neighbourhood in America and staffing it locally would be good for the economy in that area.
