What happens if Trump is indicted in Georgia? (Indicted on August 14, 2023)

mr wade is excused and we are on to the next witness.

they are really hanging up on cash reimbursements. i know people who are very cash oriented and would indeed just give you goodly amounts of cash.

cash reimbursement is something that happens in my family especially among the older crew. i rarely deposit that cash, unless i need it to cover a check or on line purpose.

At least that’s an argument. One problem is that the Grand Jury indicted, so it’s hard to say the case is baseless.

Not too long ago we learned that Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, doesn’t have a bank account. Many on the right were saying there’s nothing wrong, or even unusual, about someone mostly dealing only in cash.

Fani Willis now taking the stand, but there’s a short break to gather up some documents.

I’ve had clients pay me in cash before. It can be a little unwieldy at times, but it’s a perfectly acceptable way for the client to settle his or her tab. I’ll provide a receipt, of course.

Looks like after a brief break, Ms. Willis will testify.

Rather dramatic moment there. The DA’s attorneys were arguing that Fani Willis did not have to testify and then Ms. Willis herself strolled up and announced that she would testify.

Did she say “I’m your Huckleberry” ?

he isn’t the only one. when i worked at the census, quite a few people opened up new bank accounts or got visa cards for direct deposit.

the census was direct deposit only. other jobs they had they would cash pay checks at the bank that the business account was in and would use money orders if they were not able to use cash.

ms willis did come in hot.

i was amused by some of the attorneys calling mr wade, mr willis.

Shots fired. “It’s ridiculous to me that you lied on Monday and yet here we are.” Willis to Merchant.

Followed by several more accusations of lying. She is steaming.

But is paying things with cash that much of a thing for most people today?

I ask because my work experience has been in restaurant operations for the last 30+ years and when I started out we would have large cash deposits made every week since most people paid with cash. But for the last 15 years at least (probably 20 years) that has completely stopped since debit cards are so ubiquitous. I don’t know anyone under 30 who carries much if any cash these days. So paying someone for expenses in cash seems really strange to me.

You got that right. She’s ready to kick ass and take names.

i know some one who walks around with close to 1k in his pocket. it is mostly older people, or young people who are early twenties.

oh yeah, fani is steaming hot.

But is she on the safe side of that ‘line’ or the perilous side.

I’m surprised. What I don’t yet know is whether I’m concerned.

I haven’t been following very closely, can you give context for this?

It was like her first response to the first thing she was asked. She may not have even waited for a question.

Safe side. She’s crafting her responses carefully, I suppose to remain on the safe side.

The judge has asked the lawyer (Merchant) to lead her a little—that’s fine, as it should mean that questions and subsequent responses are more narrow. And it seems to be working so far.

i believe monday is when they spoke to the judge on whether there would be a hearing. ms willis was speaking about things that happened during the monday meeting.

Willis pulled no punches, saying that Roman’s attorney, Ashleigh Merchant, was propagating outright lies about Willis (in Merchant’s Pleadings).

ms willis’ father and my grandmother are of a like mind. have cash at all times.

She’s certainly making the case that using cash, in any amount, is not unusual for her.

Thanks for the explanation. This theory seems pretty absurd to me. “She only prosecuted Trump because of the sweet, sweet opportunity to take vacations on the public’s dime with her boyfriend. Pay no attention to all the facts of the case.”
