What happens if Trump is indicted in Georgia? (Indicted on August 14, 2023)

Until Dog The Bounty Hunter catches up to you. Then it’s the sad way.

Pence.

Thanks for that Flightradar link, @commasense . Fascinating stuff! I’m following along, and now have both the aircraft and Atlanta on the same screen. Shouldn’t be long now. Before the plane touches down, anyway.

ETA: The aircraft has started its descent. It was at an altitude of 40,000 feet; now it is at 22,000 feet.

10,000 people watching this airline track to see if it makes a quick left turn to head to Saudi Arabia…

The Ego has landed.

How long have you had that tee’ed up?

His body. The bail company now owns the bond paid to the court. It will be returned when Trump’s case is concluded unless Trump absconds. If that happens, that’s when the bounty hunters step in.

It was up over 23,600 at one point.

Found confirmation here:

Former President Donald Trump will be using a metro Atlanta bonding company to cover the cost of his $200,000 bond in Fulton County, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has confirmed.

However, is this true in Fulton County:

. . . most jurisdictions do not accept credit cards or checks drawn from personal or business accounts. Cash means actual money.

I believe that making cash bank withdrawals anywhere near $200,000, on only a couple days notice, is going to be a real problem for anyone. This illustrates some of what’s wrong with cash bail.

Another co-conspirator, Harrison Floyd, (guy from Black Voices for Trump accused of intimidating Ruby Freeman) turned himself in without pre-arranging a bond and is being held in jail until he can get before a judge.

A complicating factor for Floyd is earlier this year he was arrested for assaulting a federal agent that was serving a subpoena. They might be hesitant to let him out.

Trump had a lot more than a few days to come up with his bail money.

Trump claims a net worth of $2.5 Billion.

He had 4 days. I could come up with $50,000 cash in 4 days and I’m not a billionaire.

Nothing. He almost certainly gave the bail bond person a check for $20,000. Which Trump will not get back, even if acquitted.

The ‘what color tie will he wear?’ bet can now be paid out:

That would not have paid out much. $1.05 on a $1 bet?

From what I read, banks often have a $20,000 daily cash withdrawal limit. He was indicted late on August 14, after banks were closed, so he couldn’t get $20,000 that day. Also, I doubt you can get the $20,000 day after day or on weekends. Also there is a real security and insurance issue with carrying around $200,000.

There also are money laundering checks that may take a couple extra days.

The cash bail system is less of an injustice to people worth hundreds of millions of dollars than to others, but it still is an injustice.

Trump is known to be, well, cheap. He probably is not out that $20,000 voluntarily or due to laziness.

The pictures are crazy, he has a press car with him.

Huge motorcade this time. Bigger than in New Jersey, I think. Looks like two dozen motorcycle police as escorts, in addition to the usual number of black SUVs. Oh, and this time, what looks like a Fire/Rescue paramedic truck.

Is that ambulance neon coloured?

The fire/rescue/ambulance is in case he trips over his tie.
