As to the OP: Don’t bother. If she is a hot 40 year-old babe, she’s got plenty of horn dogs doing all the welfare checkups she needs. She’s off partying with some 18-year old Rico Suave as we speak.
Where the heck do you live?
I assume he lives in a normal country.
But you just got taken to whoosh-land, I think.
Word. This should apply anywhere in civilized society. Sad, that homeowners do this but apartment house dwellers do not.
Don’t sweat the cops. They will appreciate the respect you show your neighbor, her home and YOUR community.
I honestly don’t even get the OP thinks “just doesn’t feel right.” Her garbage bin and mail have gone unattended and her porch light has been left on. These things are all consistent with each other. What would be inconsistent is if things were piling up and the light were intermittently on. That would suggest someone is home, but for some mystifying reason, the mail and garbage are being ignored.
Yeah, well, not everybody lives in Mayberry. Where I’m from people mind their own business, which is irrelevant, because in this case there is no “business” to mind. We have some guy thinking “Hey, what’s up with the hot neighbor?”
On the day I quit my job without notice, I strolled in at noonish to declare myself done, and my boss had already called to see what the deal was by roughly 10am. I ignored the call, of course. Made my quitting more dramatic.
Go knock on her damn door and report back.
Are you really afraid she’ll think you’re in lurve with her.
Do you “know” any of the other neighbors and might they have an idea about her?
I’m so old, I remember when a welfare check was something that came in the mail.
She still dead?
… And so…
[QUOTE=Win Place Show]
I tried knocking on the door this evening after work, and to no surprise I didn’t get an answer.

Another week has passed.
Any news?
I was trying to come up with a witty quip, but failed…so yeah, what’s up with the hot dead neighbor?
Fairly obvious that OP has fallen into whatever trap befell his hot single neighbor.
Someone should really pick up his mail.
OP should move to excavating (for a mind)'s neighbourhood so excavating (for a mind) can post for OP on this board in case OP is not around…
I’m guessing no longer hot, room temperature.
Well at least we know the kitten was found. But this and the “my-friend-is-possibly-pregnant-but-in-denial” situations continue to plague me.
Maybe it’s the same person, and she’s gone off to “visit an aunt” for a few weeks?
Not until someone ascertains HIS hotness…
Sure.
The newspapers are still being thrown to every driveway in the neighborhood.
Yes, she is still good looking.
Oh, and yes she is alive and well.
Anticlimactic but good news. Did you find out where she was? Was she on vacation? Or involuntarily held in a mental institution like another of our threads?
You tell her how you swooped down and saved her? Almost.
