Bush is gone and Obama has appointed his people to staff positions. What happens to those who were working for the administration under Bush? For example what will Condelezza Rice be doing now? What will the old spokesperson for the White house and others go?
Either they retire or get other jobs. Some will run for office. A lot stay in DC and work as lobbyists or consultants or work for some private business. Rice signed with an agent and she will probably write a book. A lot of the well known people write books about their time in DC.
I’ve heard that Rice plans to return to Stanford University, probably at the Hoover Institution.
Many of the key folks flew down to Texas with the Bushes, others met up with them in Midland. Some will get jobs as political pundits for Fox or other media. Some will go into academics. And some will work for conservative think tanks. Eventually they might also work for new candidates in upcoming elections or also seek office themselves. Relatively few have gone to prison.
Rice is going on a speaking tour. It could be interesting.

The agent represents her for books, lectures, business, etc. No mention of Stanford here. She can make a lot more money at places other than Stanford.
Think: Old Yeller.
Those speaking tours pay serious bucks. She’ll probably make more than her yearly salary as Secretary of State after giving a half dozen talks.
They’re buried along with him in his tomb (the so called presidential library) once it’s completed.
