What has Debbie Harry got on her right hand? Spoilered because Debbie Harry:
The dark glove-like thing with the loop might be a falconer’s glove. Or just a prop made from an orthopedic wrist brace with a loop of rope attached for that vaguely bondage, bad girl vibe.
It has elements of each.
Cute pix btw. For rather aggressive values of “cute”.
No idea but I get a vibe of it being some kind of video gamer’s glove from the 90’s (I realize that photo was in 1976 so pretty much before all video games).
Nice turn of phrase.
She keeps me hangin’ on the telephone.
It also looks vaguely like a bondage cuff with a side D-ring.
Her t-shirt does say “Vulture” but it looks a bit shiny, tight and neat for a falconer’s gauntlet.
I confess though, when it comes to Debbie Harry I’m not going to question what she wears. She can get away with pretty much anything.
While we’re at it, what is she holding in her left hand in some of the pix? A toy ray gun?
BTW, my wife has that shirt. Got it at a concert about 10 years ago. Good quality for merch; she still wears it regularly.
You may have a typo there. Did you perhaps mean “nothing”?
The first album I bought as a nipper was “parallel lines” and there is nothing overtly sexual about the cover but she was effortlessly attractive no matter what she did and what she wore. She simmered, she exuded a vibe of “I’m wearng this, I know I look good, deal with it”
The early me would have said “yes please” to nudity but on reflection I think she made a bigger impact by not doing so.
Agree!
I was a huuuuuuge Blondie fan back in the day. I liked Parallel Lines, but it was the last of their albums I bought. I always preferred their more strongly punk earlier ones.
I was just a little too young for their early stuff. I started paying attention to music when my brother was bringing home The Clash, The Jam and lots of two-tone stuff and my sister was playing the northern soul classics.
Then, on “Top Of The Pops” I witnessed this. I was smitten, how could a young boy not be?
Oh, I understand. I’m just older.
Now, I feel decrepit. Watched the concert for Joni Mitchell’s Gershwin Award we had on the dvr last night. I started doing the math on how many years it’d been since …
I gave up. Too depressing! I saw Joni at The Troubadour (in L.A.) between her first and second albums. That’s a ton of years ago.
Yeah. She didn’t so much exude hot as she did heat. If you see the difference. Rowwwr!
Absolutely, She never looked like she was trying to be sexy, which, perversely, is very sexy indeed…

sorry, what were we talking about again? I fear my attention may have wandered.
The first Vultures t-shirt was found in a sporting goods store but Debbie never found out what kind of sports team it was. It was the inspiration for several other Vultures shirts she designed herself. #7
