sure, but a drummer counting up to four?
How can you tell a drummer’s at the door?
.
I have the answer to this question.
Here is the odd story:
I was in Miami for Art Basel and Art Miami. My wife and I decided to also go to Scope another art show. While there, I saw an autographed photo of her with the glove thing on and I recognized it from my child hood.
It is part of toy called: Commander Zack Power Powerarm Lightning Cycle
You can see used ones on ebay.
The glove had batteries in a wrist pack and you would electric contacts on the thumb and index fingers - you pinch the backpack electrical leads of Commander Zack while his motorcycle was in a launcher with the backwheel raised up. The back wheel would spin and the once it was spinning fast you push a button on the launcher and the motorcycle took off. It was a crappy toy but the glove looked very cool.
Oddly, I always wanted to be in a band and remember thinking the glove would be a great prop.
I almost bought the signed photo at the show, but it was a few thousand and I could not really justify it, but I also told the gallery guy what the glove was - we laughed about the story.
I don’t think anyone really knows about that toy.
he said he heard they found the glove in a garbage can or thrift store or something like that.
funny story though.
Here is a photo:
It certainly matches what you see in the original photoshoot, including the cord and the decal.
By George, I think that’s it! 2 1/2 years later… but we got there.
A+ internet stranger.
So glad to see those art fairs are finally good for something. Thanks!
