What Has Hubble Found THIS Time?

A big ball of yarn, like massive.

Oh, oh. You know what that means…

Planet Hollywood.

Given the ratio of hype to hard data, it’s probably going to be something like “Hubble has discovered a cloud around a newly formed star that could be a solar system in the process of forming. A cloud with elements in it! Like hydrogen! And oxygen! That means if the cloud ever does form planets and one of them is the right mass and distance from it’s star, it could have water!!!”

Well duh, we didn’t think planets were eggs laid by starbirds.

No, the Great A’Tuin lays planet eggs. Duh.

Images of planets that orbit sun-like (if younger) stars. One of which they imaged THREE planets!

I’l let Phil explain:

Brian

Wow. That’s amazing!

How about this.?

It turns out this Hubble discover actually is one for the ages! Yes, the mighty Hubble Telescope has discovered and photographed, lingering in the depths of space, the dark lord Sauron himself! It turns out Peter Jackson had it right after all!

Direct observation of a planet observing another star. Not Earth-sized, but less than 3 Jupiters and 10 times the Sun-Saturn distance from its parent star…

I’d like to add, that it seems Sauron’s gaze is upon us, and if he has anything to do with global warming, el nino, and a blizzard in the Rockies, his arm has grown long indeed.

It might not be his arm that caused that blizzard.

How good is a planet’s eyesight?

A garden planet with hippos.

Really rather good?

I should have said orbiting… Serves me right for not previewing… :stuck_out_tongue:

Worried? Why? We have the plans. A small torpedo could start a chain reaction, and some kid who used to bull’s-eye womp rats in his T-sixteen back home could hit it. Womp rats are not much bigger than two meters.

Alright three threads on this now.
