Helpless, convulsive laughter times:
I’m perhaps 13 or 14. My father tells us about an essay that my cousin wrote when he was in elementary school. It started with “When I grow up I will be Tarzan. I’ll kill a hundred lions and eat them all”. I laughed hard and long and they just looked at me weirdly.
Another such moment was in a camp school. It was a sauna night, and in typical Finnish fashion, we’d jump go in the sauna, jump in a lake, go back to sauna and so on. Before jumping, I was looking at the lake with couple of pals (one of them would turn out to be quite an asshole later on, but that’s another story). One asked me “Do you know what’s really cool?” and another, at the same time, tests the echo by shouting “COW! COW!” I still can’t explain what was so funny about that, but I just started laughing, and was still laughing at the sauna until everyone got annoyed and I had to subdue myself.
