What have you done with your vinyl?

Maybe you should make something clear: was his ex-girlfriend a member of your family? And what did the boat club have to do with the girlfriend?

I was still hauling my vinyl around when I joined the Army. Not much room in a barracks room for them and I got sick of moving them. I went to the PX one day and bought a combo stereo that had a turntable & cassette deck that allowed you to tape your albums. Once I taped them all, I kept a few albums I really treasured, sold the rest at a used place and took the stereo back to the store. I know, I know. That was a little immoral I guess. I eventually lost all the cassettes. Eventually, most of it became available on CD though.

Now I have a crap load of CDs I need to someday retrieve from storage and make into MP3s. Hopefully that will be the last time in my life I have to convert, rather than simply transfer, my media.

Forget Blu-ray & shit. There’s really only one more technology upgrade I’m interested in. I want a brain implant drive that can store all my music & video & play it back to me on demand, through the audio & visual areas of my brain.

It’s called “Your Memory.”

I still have all my vinyl in my basement. I also have my old record player. Works fine, though I haven’t used it in years (it’s not a good spot for listening).

The needle broke about ten years ago, but I was able to replace it.

My memory needs more bass.

Nope, and nothing. Both fires were completely random events. When the guy was caught the police told us he was depressed over the girlfriend and that’s why he was setting fires…

Back to the OP. I just thought it was bizarre that we got more for our old albums from the insurance company than we could from the yard sale. Guess they had more appreciation for vintage Steve Miller Band.
