On Christmas day I opened presents with my brother and sister-in-law with more good cheer than I was expecting given that it was our first without either parent. That afternoon I hung out with my best friend, catching up on a Christmas-themed Food network competition and went for Chinese food. I got home early enough to put together a Lego Mystery Machine and cuddle my soon-to-be late cat while watching The Santa Clause 2 and the haunted house X-Files episode. Not bad day, all things considered.
