What I do when I break toes..

Watch them turn purple in fascination. Oh no, not someone elses toe. I kinda wrecked mine. Well if not broken is completely I’ve bruised it or chipped it nicely. Done this before too so it doesn’t really hurt.

Soon I shall go and splint it to my other toe for healing purposes.

Yah definately mundane and pointless but I shall be limping for a little bit, especially up stairs.

Ouch!

I do that frequently. Once they’ve been broken a couple of times, they’ll snap with little or no effort. Running on pavement? Forget about it.

I have no useful advice. Just commiserating.

Yeah… Only one word applies here, over and over:

OW OW OW OW OW OW OW OW OW!!!

Sometimes I wonder if I’ve got stress fractures in my feet… I get these intense pains in the areas of my feet where bones are at times that are just completely inexplicable. I think it just might be from those 6 years of playing volleyball and not paying attention to when my ankles/feet couldn’t take it.

Awww that’s no good, Mirrored.

It actually doesn’t really hurt which makes me think I just cracked it rather than breaking it, but then my memories of my last broken toe tell me that didn’t hurt either and I only realized it was broken when I hobbled to the doc and he told me what it was and that he couldn’t do anything but tape it to the next one.

It’s rather fascinating watching the healing process in my toe. Right now it’s this rather nifty shade of blackish purple in spots and reddish purple in others.

Strangely enough when I hurt myself I usually freak but then I watch the healing with fascination… I could never make a good doctor though as I am rather squeamish…

I once dropped a 45lb barbell weight on my toes.

I wasn’t injured in the least; I’m just bragging.

Way to go!

I once had both of my feet trapped under a 90-lb golden retriever. Not only did I manage to walk away completely unharmed afterward, but to this day I consider it one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. I highly recommend it.

Not sure how old you are, but I know soon after I passed 40 I began to realize the true joy that is arthritis in a previously broken big toe. Hurts every frigging step I take. Doesn’t keep me from running or doing anything, just hurts all the damn time.

Just thought you might like having that to look forward to.

Oo fun Dinsdale… not looking forward to that (I’ll be 20 in a matter of a few weeks)…

Funny thing is I’ve had a horse step on my foot and walked away without injury but just one bang against the couch my toes get all funky… Of course I did have shoes on when the horse stepped on my toes…

I’ve often been tempted to stick my foot out and have a car run over it. I keep thinking, if you are wearing good sneakers, place your foot properly with the sole down flat and perpendicular to the tire, it should be able to handle the weight. Feet are pretty resilient.

At least I think it should be able to handle it.

I haven’t tried it yet.

I dropped a casting net on my foot (well, I chucked it down on my foot) about a month ago. My toe is still sore and it hurts to touch the top of it. No discoloration any more, doesn’t hurt to walk. Just hurts to touch it.
[sub]ow. ow! OW! OK! I’m not going to touch it any more![/sub]
