I went to one of those cool hippie colleges with no core curriculum, so I didn’t take a single math class after high school’s Algebra Two. I did take Chemistry in college, and those equations very nearly slayed me. I got a C (or at least my hippie college’s written equivalent of a C), after working harder at that class than I had ever worked at anything in my life. And both my parents are scientists.
The key here is to practice masochistically. After you get your ass whipped innumerable times, you will get better. It took me forever to not suck at foosball.
This is nothing to be ashamed about unless you are from upstate Alabama.
My personal demon? Golf, which I’m kind of surprised no one’s mentioned yet. I have been playing golf for 7 years, but I still suck. My best round is a 97 or something like that. Even when I was playing / practicing five times a week in HS, I continued to suck.
