My chimney could use a cleaning. We don’t use it often, but I’m quite sure it needs a basic cleaning by a chimney sweep. Problem is, I have zero idea how much that kind of service costs.
Anyone ever have one clean their chimney? What is a reasonable price?
I live in the United States, in Michigan.
Thanks
In the neighborhood of a hundred bucks. Might be lower in Michigan than in New Jersey.
Beware that they might find stuff they need to fix.
This is what I figure. Like taking a car in for maintenance. I just want the cleaning, though.
I pay $125 at the beginning of the season and then halfway through. If your cap and flew are in good condition it’ll only be a cleaning…
Echoing the ~$100. However, my guy gives a discount if you get the work done off-season during the summer. You might get a price break if you don’t wait until fall when everyone with a fireplace is starting to think about getting theirs cleaned.
I paid ~$100 for three chimneys and a drier vent in Colorado.
