If ya like indie-ish folk-like stuff, check out Rilo Kiley. I found them accidentally, and haven’t taken the CD out yet. Their lead singer, Jenny Lewis, is piece of pure singing perfection.
Oops, almost forgot Kate MacLeod .
Jim O’Rourke - halfway to a threeway or insignifigance. Both are awesome records, one pop, one rock.
Eno - Here Come The Warm Jets. Essential 70’s rock.
Magnetic Fields - 69 love songs. It’s an ambitious and stunning concept that works. Highly recommended.
Botch - We Are The Romans. Hardcore / Heavy metal. Kinda like coalesce.
M83 - Dead Cities, Red Seas and Lost Ghosts. They remind me a bit of explosions in the sky, do make say think, and some electronic bands.
DJ Shadow - Endtroducing. Pitchforkmedia.com put this in their top 10 cd’s of the 90’s. I agree.
Do make say think. Everything they’ve done is great; their last one was winter hymn, secret hymn, or something like that. It’s instrumental post rock, and pretty cheap. Get it.
