what is bjork saying?

at the end of the song joga, she’s singing one line over and over again until it fades out. does any one know what she is saying?

i’ve looked through various lyrics sites… no one has it.

Here’s the lyrics.

that still doesn’t have what she’s saying at the end of the song. all the lyrics pages seem to omit it

I’m not sure about that particular song, but I know that Bjork often improvises sounds and words that don’t exist, and these are the parts that usually don’t make it on to her lyrics sheets.

So there’s a good chance that she’s not really saying anything at all.

Or it could be in Icelandic. I’ll give a listen tomorrow and see if i can be any more help, but I know neither roommate nor husband would appreciate hearing Bjork at this hour, so it’ll have to wait.

Peter Pan had it right.

Disbelief in the magical folk kills them.

Thus, two of the last remaining elves have entered our world masquerading as human.

The line is actually an incantation. It works subtly on your mind to alter your view of reality. Hum the song if you believe in elves.

I listened to it a few times after reading this thread last night, and I came up with nothing. But that’s not saying much, since I have a hard time understanding her in most of her songs (but still love them; don’t get me wrong.)

So I’m guessing it’s something in Icelandic. Or “I buried Pa-a-a-ul.”

If it’s any consolation, the “official” lyrics on bjork.com don’t mention what she’s saying, so it can be inferred that she herself didn’t consider the words important to the song.

“If you act vaguely crazy
And wear a swan to the Oscars
And record arty stuff with with obscure lyrics
You’ll have people hanging on your every word
And starting threads about it
Even though
You didn’t have anything to say
In the first place.”

I liked the swan. I thought it was really cool. Especially the way she laid the egg. What’s wrong with introducing a bit of art into fashion?
