What is considered a good rum?

I’d suggest Pusser’s Rum ( http://www.pussers.com/ ), licensed by the Admiralty after the British Navy discontinued their daily rum ration in 1970…

In the 1980s I bought some in the ‘“Nelson’s Blood” Hip Flask’. The rum’s long-gone of course, but I think the ceramic bottle is still around somewhere.

For those of you who like Cruzan, I suggest you go to the Virgin Islands, not only is it dead cheap there ($3 for a fifth!?!), but it’s duty free, to boot. It’s really good when you drink a Rum Punch and watch the sun sink into the Caribbean. I heartily recommend it.

Thanks, rjk, but I think I’ll keep it. I think it’s neat, and I like the traditional toasts on the back.
