I too thought she was cute back on Home Improvement. Since then she’s become more and more a charicature.
Yikes. You guys are being pretty hard on Spamala.
She has apeal to a segment of the population - I personally know at least a few fellas that think she’s da bomb. I agree that she was more attractive before she made it big - I’ve seen a Bud poster of her - pre boobies and pre blond and she’s lovely looking. Also, regardless of her makeup, she still has a pretty face.
However, I do have to point out - 1) most celebs look like regular old people - hagaard and all - without makeup, and 2) Pam has hepatitis which has got to be hard on a person.
Personally, I kinda dig VIP - it’s so totally absurd - and so purposfully absurd - that I get a kick out of it.
Would I want to look like her? No.
Do I think she’s a fabulous actress? No.
Do I think she’s a marketing genius? Oh yes.
I don’t think she’s even the most attractive blonde on Baywatch. Gena Lee Nolin or Donna D’errico are much more attractive and natural looking.
I don’t know, What Is It About Pamela Anderson?, I guess if Plastic and Fake are what you like, go on.
I’ve heard her style described as that of a female female impersonator.
I also think the horrible people who program television shows deserve a great share of the blame for her continuing popularity. If only Access Hollywood and its ilk would be banished from the airwaves…
I’m sorry to those Pamela Anderson fans, but I just don’t see what’s so attractive about her. She is a 35 year old with hepatitis C.
I guess I’m a minority here. I adore her!
First of all, she is totally in on her own joke. Somebody above said “VIP is a charicature of itself.” Well, yes. It’s supposed to be. That was the point.
And as to the question of why she’s so popular when so many “prettier” models aren’t? I think it’s because she exudes sweetness. She always appears sweet and nice and loving. People respond to her because they like her.
I think she’s great. I hope she sticks around for a long long time.
Um… I don’t think so!!!
I’m a Pamela Anderson fan. She appears to have a sense of fun about what she does, and given that most of her roles are supposed to be “fun” roles, it worked for her. She didn’t take VIP seriously, any more than her audience did. The problem with VIP was the writing TRIED to be bright and witty, but it was relentlessly mediocre. I hope she does well in her future endeavors, including striperella. There are so many cuties that can’t project any sense of fun about what they’re doing at all. She’s not one of them.
That said, Donna D’errico makes her look plain. But Donna lacks her spark.
i think shes got an all around tight little package…
she is herself
Shes from Canada.
It’s in the water.
How? She does what all good looking women do… ho her way to the top… I wouldn’t touch Pamela Anderson with a ten foot pole.
All? :dubious: In answer to the OP, what everyone else said.
Got you attention didn’t I?
There’s a term for deliberately posting rude or combative comments just to get people’s attention, but I just can’t quite remember what it is.
It’s troll… but those are my feelings toward Pam. No holds barred. Sorry if it raises heads.
harsh.
she can’t control her age. she didn’t CHOOSE to get hep C.
don’t base her unattractiveness on that.
Look, it’s a hard fact of life, but time affects us all. Including our attractiveness. Except if you are Sean Connery or Sophia Lauren, who like fine wines only get better with age. The rest of us turn into vinegar.
And despite the involuntariness of her hepatitis C, it still factors into my attraction for her. My desire to have sexual intercourse with her has been greatly reduced after finding out about it.
Exactly. She just oozes skankiness. She’s the uberskanke.
I figure it’s because Pam shoots for the lowest common denominator, the “sucker punch” of attractiveness. Big boobs? She’s got 'em. Cosmetically altered face? Done it. Provacative dress? Yep. Tattoos? Uh-huh. Makeup? By the handful. Blonde hair? Well, dunno if I could blame her for that; it might be her real color. Overall, there’s no subtlety in her approach, just sort of a shotgun in the direction of the “sex appeal” target.
When I see a woman who presents herself in this way I get defensive. My reaction is, come on, give me a little credit here. The packaging is okay, but I do want some substance. With Pam, there’s no mystery, 'cos what she’s got to offer, we’ve probably already seen. Mystery is important.
Just my two drachmas. Or lira, or yuan, or whatever.
