As long as Panshin’s on the table…anybody who likes the Anthony Villiers novels has got a very good chance of liking Walter Jon Williams “Drake Maistral” novels. They partake of very much the same gentility, wit, sophistication, suavity, and charm. They, too, are comedies of manners, and they’re just plain jolly good fun.
Some of us think they actually exceed and excel Panshin’s work, although very clearly modeled after Panshin.
